Welcome to Day 23 - God's Love Endures Forever
Today at Living Hope Church we passed a significant milestone. Our UNITE campaign completed all of the tasks in the Red phase and now we are ready to move to our new location. My mini message today was taken from Psalm 136 which is a Psalm of Thanksgiving. It includes the familiar refrain of "His Love Endures Forever"
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good. His love endures forever.
Give thanks to the God of gods. His love endures forever.
Give thanks to the Lord of lords: His love endures forever.
to him who alone does great wonders, His love endures forever.
who by his understanding made the heavens, His love endures forever.
who spread out the earth upon the waters, His love endures forever.
who made the great lights— His love endures forever.
the sun to govern the day, His love endures forever.
the moon and stars to govern the night; His love endures forever.
to him who struck down the firstborn of Egypt His love endures forever.
and brought Israel out from among them His love endures forever.
with a mighty hand and outstretched arm; His love endures forever. The thing that I love about this scripture, as with most scripture, is that there is a lesson embedded in the praise. What can we learn from this display of love for the Heavenly Father? For this psalmist God is not some theory. He is not some abstract idea, or notion. For him and for me, God is real and like this psalmist I can point out specific times when He has delivered me. If you look at the rest of this Psalm you see how God delivered his people. You see how God saved them and made their lives possible. How He provides for them. How He created the earth and the fullness thereof.
Do you know that there is a God who has done a tremendous amount for you. If you looked back over your life you could pick out moments where you know God got you through. Why not list them out like this psalmist? I challenge you today to look at the ways that God has shown you that His Love Endure Forever.
