Do you know who you are? Do you know whose you are? I’ll let you in on a secret. I know everything about you. I know who you are and whose you are. I know the most important things about your family. I bet you wonder how I could possibly know these things. Well I could tell by looking at you.
I couldn’t help it. You see the family resemblance is remarkable. You my friend are a child of God. Now that’s quite a family. Do you even realize the inheritance that has been left for you? Let’s take a look at what God decided when he made you.
God spoke: "Let us make human beings in our image, make them reflecting our nature so they can be responsible for the fish in the sea, the birds in the air, the cattle, And, yes, Earth itself, and every animal that moves on the face of Earth." God created human beings; he created them godlike, Reflecting God's nature. He created them male and female. God blessed them: "Prosper! Reproduce! Fill Earth! Take charge! Be responsible for fish in the sea and birds in the air, for every living thing that moves on the face of Earth." -Genesis 1:28 (Msg)God did three very important things in this passage. What does it mean to be made in God’s image? I think that this is something that we all struggle with from time to time. It is hard to believe that we could in any way be made in God’s image but you are. Don’t let your self-doubts keep you from understanding what God did when He created us. We are made in His image not just in style but also in substance. When God made us He imparted into each and every one of us His essence and Power. That means that we have the power to Create as well as destroy.
How Do I Access This Power?
In a word, “Speak”. Since you have God’s essence than you would access His power the same way that He does… through his Word. If you go back a little further in Genesis God created with His Word.
