On Being a "Great" Dad
One of the greatest and scariest things that has ever happened to me was becoming a father. Eleven years ago my wife and I were blessed with our first born whom we call Princess Mighty online. He real name can be translated as "Strong Willed". Our littlest one whom we call Princess Mini, like her big sister, personifies her namesake. Her name says she is a "Defender of Men" and with her caring and sensitive nature I can see her doing just that. They are both wonderful and are more than this guy deserves let me tell you.
Who is Great
I had a friend online tell me once that I was a "great" Dad. I am sure she meant it but I don't think you should get credit for doing the things you should. For me that perpetuates a myth that I don't agree with. I know many men who take care of their families. They provide more than just dollars. They guide and they shape and they are there for their families.
These guys want to be there and so they do it day in and day out. I am glad that I know them. I have learned a lot from them. The best part is that none of the. Think that they are great. They know their flaws and they seek to do better everyday. They know they are not perfect but they strive for growth.
I don't think that I am a great dad, I think that being a Dad is Great
