Offering Scripture

Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all. In your hand are power and might, and in your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. (‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭29‬:‭12‬ ESV)

“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. (‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭12‬ ESV)

God is calling us to something. Are we willing to move to what God called us to or are we just making excuses?

And now, children, stay with Christ. Live deeply in Christ. Then we’ll be ready for him when he appears, ready to receive him with open arms, with no cause for red-faced guilt or lame excuses when he arrives. (‭1 John‬ ‭2‬:‭28‬ MSG)

less love shows a low level of contentment

We are marginalizing God down

When one of those who reclined at table with him heard these things, he said to him, “Blessed is everyone who will eat bread in the kingdom of God!” (‭Luke‬ ‭14‬:‭15‬ ESV)

The kingdom of God is now! We, however, are missing what is happening NOW because we are worried about the future. God has a word for that.

“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. (‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭34‬ ESV)

What are you doing with God's gift of NOW

God is inviting us into something great. See the parable in Matthew 22

“The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who gave a wedding feast for his son, and sent his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding feast, but they would not come. Again he sent other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “See, I have prepared my dinner, my oxen and my fat calves have been slaughtered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding feast.”’ But they paid no attention and went off, one to his farm, another to his business, while the rest seized his servants, treated them shamefully, and killed them. The king was angry, and he sent his troops and destroyed those murderers and burned their city. Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding feast is ready, but those invited were not worthy. Go therefore to the main roads and invite to the wedding feast as many as you find.’ And those servants went out into the roads and gathered all whom they found, both bad and good. So the wedding hall was filled with guests. “But when the king came in to look at the guests, he saw there a man who had no wedding garment. And he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you get in here without a wedding garment?’ And he was speechless. Then the king said to the attendants, ‘Bind him hand and foot and cast him into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ For many are called, but few are chosen.” (‭Matthew‬ ‭22‬:‭2-14‬ ESV)

Don't treat God's invitation as common. These three people thought too highly of themselves and were destroyed because of it.

Grace is getting what we don't deserve and Mercy is not getting what we do deserve.

We can't get to God's Purpose on our own.

GRATITUDE is the birthplace of Humility

But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith— (‭Philippians‬ ‭3‬:‭7-9‬ ESV)

The greater He is the lesser I am.
