Good Morning, my name is Carlton Matthews and this is the Minute. 60 seconds, something interesting... Just enough to get you started.

Building on yesterday’s who am I about being a husband today let’s talk fatherhood. I am a proud, yet tired father of 4. 3 girls and one boy.

Their ages range from 15 years old down to 7 weeks. Yes, that is quite the range in ages. Yes you can find it humorous.

I love being a Dad like my Father and his father before him. #Dadlife is real. I tell anyone worries about being a Dad not to worry. Just know that being a Dad is great, and act accordingly.

Any Fathers in the house? How many and what ages?

This has been The Minute. Now go out there and get started.

about_me

fathers

theminute

Carlton Matthews

God's Man | Training Your Children

Another from my new series of Visual Devotionals. Deuteronomy 6:6-7> And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. Are you training your children to know God? Being God's Man means leaving a legacy that has eternal value.

god_focus

god_is__everywhere

visual_devotions

fathers

Carlton Matthews

Jump | Fond Father's Day Memories...

Today is Father's Day and as I was thinking what I would post I started looking through some pictures that I have stored and I came across this one.In this picture we have my God son, Cameron, cooking crabs for the first time. It was the first time that he had really touched one. Even wearing those thick gloves he was still nervous being pinched. The other guy in the picture is my Dad, who I refer to as the old King. I know that this isn't the best picture of him but, with half his face gone but it illustrates an important thing about my Dad.My Dad has one of the biggest personalities that you will ever experience but you won't always notice it. Sometimes it is in your face but most of the time it is behind the scenes guiding you. Growing up we always called my Dad the foreman because when there was work going on he made sure that all us boys knew what we should be doing, what we were doing wrong and how to fix it.Like with Cameron he was showing him what to do, the same way he taught me when I was younger. In the end Cameron cooked a fine pot of crabs and he got confidence enough to do this pose for me with the last two.Happy Father's Day to all of you dads out there. Act as if being a Dad is great!
